DR. BILAL FAROOQI, M.D.
Born in West Virginia, Dr. Bilal Farooqi moved to Tampa as a teenager in the 1990s and calls Florida home. Dr. Farooqi graduated high school from Tampa Preparatory School. He graduated with his bachelor’s degree from The Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland. He completed his medical residency at the Mercer University School of Medicine in Macon, Georgia and his fellowship in hematology and oncology at the University of Florida in Gainesville. Dr. Farooqi has published numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals such as the Journal of Oncology Practice and the Journal of Graduate Medical Education.
He has also presented at national conferences such as the American College of Physicians. Dr. Farooqi’s research experience includes working at the Moffitt Cancer Center where he worked as a fellow of the American Cancer Society, Florida Division. His research on breast cancer at Navicent Health won first place at the annual meeting of the Georgia Chapter of the American College of Physicians. Dr. Farooqi is excited about moving back to the Tampa Bay Area and providing excellent care to his patients.
